A
little bit on how this project got started...
From
within our Ayllu Vision Meeting that happened
in Kamloops in the Winter of 2006... a dream was
put forth of creating our own Ayllu Community
Drum... A drum that would be of service to the
healing of our blessed earth mother, Pachamama
and our Ayllu Community in the Kamloops sacred
valley and outer area(s)...
We
are now dreaming and creating this sacred drum
into being... where this sacred project has been
continuing with a small commited group of our
Ayllu...
If
the spirit of the drum calls you, we welcome ALL
Ayllu members to join us...
Gathering date change/update: The one-piece
sitka spruce drum frame (residing in Kamloops
- see info below) has gone through the critical
stage of drying over the winter months... and
is now ready to become our ayllu sacred drum...
We are planning to meet together in the Fall of
2008 (September (4) 5, 6, and 7, 2008 - confirmed)
in Sorrento, BC to create this special ayllu drum
(sacred ceremonies will be included in this weekend)...
We
welcome those who will want to assist with
all aspects of the creation of this sacred drum...
i.e.: the sanding and finishing of the frame,
the pulling of the hides... the creation of the
playing sticks - including the possible adornment
of feathers, beadwork or?... the building and
finishing of a drum stand... the sewing of an
honouring cover... etc...
We
also welcome donations towards the cost of this
project... to do so, please contact Pamela
Jensen ...or
see below how to donate online and/or buy a project
tshirt, mug, cards, etc...
There
is much dreaming and planning to be done now before
we meet to build, construct and create...
For more info and the journaling about this project...
an interactive blog site has been set up where
we all can dream and dialogue together the process
that we are embarking on with this project...
you can visit the blog at www.drum4mum.blogspot.com
...and if you would like to join in on the
discussion and contribute to this blog, please
email weaver at stardrum@yahoo.com
and request an invite and she will welcome you...
This blog will also keep us in touch with the
process and confirm specifics when and where...

sacred drum is becoming OUR Ayllu Community Drum

healing together as ayllu... we can't do this
without you! ...All
our relations!
We
are fundraising for the costs related to creating
this sacred drum... and we invite you to purchase
a project t-shirt, mug, framed print, greeting

The
Luminous Path - Kamloops
The
Luminous Path
Living From a Personal Cosmology of Power
The
Luminous Path is a path of personal power which
draws on Andean shamanic wisdom to offer you tools
and practices to craft your life by direct engagement
with your luminous body. Through teachings, Andean
rites of passage and initiations, we will access
the luminous fibers of the universe which inform
our bodies and our understanding of reality. We
will directly engage our own soul and the powers
of nature. We will recover an understanding of
our life's purpose, how to shed our past, confront
our shadow, release our limiting vision and heal
ourselves. When we work from the place of the
Luminous Mystic, we will be able to create a world
of harmony balance and peace.
This
intensive program is anchored in four sessions
each lasting four days. With the completion of
the program you will have created a powerful stone
medicine bundle called a "Mesa" in the Inka tradition
which will link you with your cosmology of power.
Inca
The
four aspects of the Luminous Path are:
Session
1 -The Luminous Self - Understanding the soul's
journey in human form and the luminous architecture
that supports that form and all of creation.
Session
2 -The Luminous Healer - Engaging your luminous
self you become a master tracker able to clear,
balance and imprint the luminous body with the
blueprint of health by connecting to the healing
power of the universe.
Session
3 -The Luminous Shaman - The shaman understands
the creation of reality, takes responsibility
for it, and tracks for the ultimate possibility
for their life and death.
Session
4 -The Luminous Mystic - Living your authentic
self within the collective through the embodiment
of compassion

Ongoing Workshops with Therese Dorer
Follow your Heart Workshop
Follow your heart! We
hear this statement a lot, but what does it really
mean?
Our
western society encourages logical thinking, and
a reliance on affirmations from external forces
to acknowledge if we are successful in the world.
Ê How would it feel to engage with the world by
following your intuition, and heart knowing, how
would this inform your reality? By following your
heart you may be giving yourself permission to
notice your choices in life choices of relationships,
career, and life purpose. In my practice as an
intuitive reader I find the most sought after
answers for clients are questions concerning Career,
Relationship and Life Purpose.
From
the hundreds of intuitive consultations I have
been able to give, I feel very blessed to have
received wonderful insights from the perspective
of Spirit regarding these important aspects of
our lives. Ê

Annual Ayllu Mountain Trip to Apu Raft
Hello
Ayllu! For
those of you who haven't joined us before, the
emphasis of this weekend is on annual clearing
of the year past, and opening to the new year.
It is a weekend spent in sacred space together,
for both communal and personal ceremony. While
we need basic hiking gear (shoes, layered clothing,
day pack, walking stick if desired) to negotiate
the two host mountains, these are not day hikes
with a goal of reaching the top of the mountain.
One of our foundational values is inclusivity!
Therefore all levels of fitness are considered
as we proceed through the days.
We
will follow the basic format of:
Friday:
We
will gather late afternoon/early evening at the
Emery's. Dinner is on your own. Evening will include
an opening Fire Ceremony and some basic orientation
to the weekend, the ceremonies we will be utilizing,
and a talking circle on being in sacred space
together for an extended period. Saturday with
Raft.
Saturday
night will be social in nature, after a long
day on the Mountain.
Sunday:
with Trophy July 18, 19, 20, 2008
Changes
this year:
1.
The weekend will be open to the significant other
(1 guest, either a spouse/partner or adult child)
of full Mesa Carriers.
2.
We will not be including an overnight stay
on Trophy this year.
3.
Registration this year will be handled by Laurie
Reiffer... lreiffer@gmail.com
There
will be camping at Emery's again, at a cost of
$5.00 which goes to the Outhouse fune. We will
send along info on local B&B's, motels, driving
instructions, etc. We haven't made contact with
Glen yet, but will do so this week. We are hoping
he is available to prepare his fabulous meals
for us - breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and
dinner on Saturday. Last year it was $55.00 for
the package.
Sign
up details and more information will come sometime
in May.

An
Ayllu Mountain Trip to Apu McCray
Plans
are being made for a weekend trip to the mountains
southeast of Revelstoke. This would be a backpacking
trip involving a 2km hike into a sub alpine lake
campsite that provides tent pads and an outhouse
only.
The
hike includes some moderate up hill sections.
Access is approximately a one-hour drive from
Revelstoke on a well-maintained dirt road to the
trailhead at 1700 feet elevation.
Participants
should be prepared to live outdoors for the weekend
and to participate in activities of coming into
relationship with the mountain. Maximum number
of participants would be 8 - 10.
A
couple of inexperienced back-packers could be
accommodated in that number provided they are
willing to prepare physically and would have time
for some orientation.
Please
contact Susan McFarland if you are interested
in this trip.

Shamanic
Membership Circle
Online with katina O'Neil & Liana Carbon
Starting
September 1, 2008
Hello
Everyone!
We
are very excited about our new program! It's just
about ready to be unveiled to the general public,
but we wanted you to have a chance to hear about
it first.
Have
you wished you could expand and deepen your understanding
of shamanic practices and the tools shamans use
from all over the world?
Have
you wanted to learn something more about shamanism
but in bite-sized pieces you could incorporate
right away into your shamanic life and practice?
Have
you wanted to go deeper into teachings with which
you are already familiar but feel not quite ready
to use on a day-to-day basis?
Have
you just wanted MORE but not felt that more expense,
more travel or more time away from work and family
was the way you could get it?
We
at the Institute of Shamanic Wisdom know about
the passion that drives us to seek more so we
can fulfill our destinies. We are all constant
seekers and learners. Because we want to make
sure the wisdom of the shamanic ways is available
to you, we are offering you a means of getting
what you want from the comfort, simplicity and
economy of your own computer, on your time, for
very little expense.
Does
this sound like something you might find interesting?
We
are launching Your Shaman's Toolbox - a Shamanic
Membership Circle that you are invited to join
for only $47 a month. Each month, you will receive
weekly lessons related to shamanism. Each lesson
will include something you can use either for
your own knowledge and practice of shamanism,
or for you to include as part of your healing
practice.

Sweat
Lodge Ceremony Returns
Next
Sweat: Contact
Susan McFarland at
mcfarlnd@jetstream.net
- 9 am Prep & 11 am Sweat Ceremony start
The
sweat
lodge ceremony
is a round of four sessions of prayer in a circular
lodge that is heated with "grandfathers"
(stones) that have been heated in a fire.
Water and herbs are sprinkled on the grandfathers.
Participants may exit the lodge between the rounds
of prayers or at any time should they become uncomfortable.
The fire is started approximately two hours before
the sweat begins and the lodge and sacred space
is prepared during this time. Those attending
the sweat are encouraged to assist in various
parts of the ceremony according to their own comfort
level.
The
new sweat lodge is located at the home of
elder/teacher Joan Arnous of the Little Shuswap
Band. Exit Highway 1 at the Sqwlax Bridge. Look
for the Quuaout Lodge information. This will be
a right turn if you are driving east, left turn
if driving west. Cross the bridge over the highway
and the river. Turn left at the end of the bridge
towards the Quuaout lodge. You will pass the PowWow
grounds on your right just before the Band Office
also on the right. It is a round building with
a large sign. Joan's house, #1877, is on the left,
across the road from the band office. There is
a dirt road before you get to Joan's driveway
that will take you around the back of the house
where you can park.
Wear:
bathing suit, shorts and T-shirt, cotton night
gown, or light cotton dress. Cotton is recommended
rather than synthetics. A pair of slip-on shoes/sandles
for in/out of the lodge, a house coat or wrap
for when exiting the lodge
Please
bring: towels, something to sit on in the
lodge that will get wet (there are bamboo beach
mats on the floor of the lodge), something to
drink, something to share in the way of food,
a gift for the elder/facilitator of the sweat.
***PLEASE
CONTACT SUSAN IF YOU ARE ATTENDING.
If no one
is attending, the sweat will not be prepared.

Annual 8,000 Sacred Drums Global Ceremony...
- Spring Equinox, March 21, 2009
- 12 Noon Central Standard Time
"When
8000 sacred drums sound together,
an intense healing of Mother Earth will commence."
- 500 year-old Otomi Prophecy
Again,
the Otomi elders of Mexico will be holding ceremonies
to gather as many sacred drummers together as
possible to continue the fulfillment of their
500-year old prophecy with the powerful intention
to open healing of our blessed earth mother -
please join us by gathering together and/or drumming
mindfully wherever you are at this time!
........................................................................................................
Joining
all Indigenous people around the world - Let us
prepare for next year's event in 2009 - Please
help us spread the word - Our blessed earth mother
is calling us!
A
call has gone out to all lightworkers and indigenous
nations around the world in calling for justice
- for healing.
**
According to a Sacred Prophecy revealed at the
Otomi Ceremonial Center by Otomi Elder Sages,
the day when the sounds of 8,000 Sacred Drums
join together is the beginning of the healing
of Mother Earth. It is time to unify ourselves
to rediscover the seeds of the Four Directions
- to reactivate cosmic energy, heal historical
wounds. It's time to respect life, liberty and
the dignity of Our Peoples.
The
first great ceremony was held March 21, 2004 in
Temoaya, Mexico. Drum circles joined around the
world on the Spring Equinox. This will continue
each year until 2012.
Sacred
Principles:
- Seal and heal the wounded vertices of Mother
Earth.
- Identify and activate the Indigenous energy
centers at sacred places, this is our duty.
- Plant and strengthen consciousness of love and
respect for our Mother Earth. This is everyone's
work.
- The Indigenous ancestral recommendation to create
and practice our cullture of Peace and Life is
fundamental.
- Recognition of the use of the energy and healing
are the properties of our sacred instruments.

Dear
fellow mesa carriers... would you like to be able
to make a difference?
- We can in a simple new way...
A

of us their medicine teachings and love...
We
really believe in this new and special Fundraising

My
Power Mall (MPM) is a (completely free-to-join)

and together, as members who care about our communities,
we hold a vision through a new way to help each
other - we work with a unique and simple fundraising
tool where we can share our financial resources
with ourselves and others...
...and
how?
We
have simply shifted the "way" we do some of our
everyday "spending"... And we funnel the rebates/income
earned into Special Projects and Foundations that
help people help people, etc... working together
with a purpose to "see" our dreams come into being.
And... the Gratitude for the Q'ero Mountain
People of Peru Fundraiser is one of those Projects.
|
Also...
6% of all corporate profits go into MPM's
"One-Child-At-Time" Program" that help children
of need all over.... and so, it's a total
WIN-WIN for everyone who participate...
MPM is open to all and anyone who share
this vision of working together for positive
change... to join us - completely free...
|
We're
presently 121,000+ proud members in over 230 countries...
and growing by the 100s every day...
By
particpating with us, ALL Rebate proceeds
generated (from our purchases) through the Q'ero
fundraiser Power Mall (MPM) Project will go directly
to help our Q'ero shaman brothers and sisters
AND those who become a free member.
